Xiaomi to launch a device in India tomorrow, could it be Redmi 2S?

Xiaomi is ready to launch a new device at an event tomorrow. It is expected that the company will be launching the highly anticipated Redmi 2.

A few days back the company had released a teaser on it social networking site regarding the new launch. The teaser, which was a puzzle had terms like Dual-SIM and MicroSD, which seemed to pointing towards the Redmi 2. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC. The front camera has been updated to a 2MP over the Redmi 1S’s 1.6MP front-facing camera. Battery and UI get a bump as well over the Redmi 1S.

It’s notable that Motorola seems to be losing its grip on the budget segment with its old Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 powered Moto E 3G (2015) which was announced yesterday. It could be a good opportunity for Xiaomi to launch a better phone in this segment, and by better phone we mean the Redmi 2S. Yes, speculations are also in the wind that the company may bring its Redmi 2S to the Indian market as well.

The Redmi 2S shares the same specs as the Redmi 2 but features a 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Even if the Redmi 2S is launched at a slightly higher price we believe customers will be more interested in that phone.
