OnePlus One (16GB) to go on sale starting Feb 24 at Rs 18,999

423201441820pm_635_oneplus_one_650_022315111103Chinese tech start-up One Plus has introduced the 16GB variant of its ‘Flagship Killer’ One handset in India. The OnePlus One (16GB) will go on sale starting February 24, 2015 at a price tag of Rs.18,999 exclusively via online retailer Amazon.in.
The model just like the 64GB variant will come with 4G compatibility. However, it will be available in Silk white colour alone to distinguish it from the grey sandstone 64GB variant. With the introduction of the 16GB variant at a price of Rs.18,999, this phone will be one of the best options in the sub-20,000 segment and will compete with Xiaomi’s Mi 4. Notably, the Xiaomi Mi 4 16GB variant is available for Rs.19,999, therefore the OnePlus One is certainly a sweeter deal in terms of price and specifications and is likely to give the Mi 4 some serious run for its money.
“Since the official launch event in New Delhi just two months ago, OnePlus India has seen an overwhelming response from the community. Living up to its ‘Never Settle’ mantra, OnePlus is working to bring wider range of products to the Indian market, starting first with the incredibly designed Silk White OnePlus One,” OnePlus wrote on its official forum.
The OnePlus One is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor; has a 13MP full HD shooter at the rear, a 5MP front camera and 3100 mAh power battery. When it comes to performance, the 16GB version will be as good as the 64GB one. The only major sacrifice is the 16GB internal memory which is quite low by flagship standards as there is no memory card slot and hence no room for expansion.
The phone will follow the same sale pattern which will require an invite to order a phone. The good thing is that users can buy the phone using the 64GB variant invite. Those without an invite can acquire one by heading over to the official Facebook page of the company and request for it.
